Chef Brandon Walker and LaTrevette Walker

Brooklyn native Chef Brandon Walker is the executive chef/owner of Essie’s Restaurant in Poughkeepsie, NY. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, his professional experiences in the culinary arts range from working in renowned restaurants in New York City, to traveling the world expanding his global culinary knowledge, and even appearing on The Food Network’s Rewrapped and Chopped.

His wife LaTrevette Walker is Essie’s managing partner and together they own B&L Hospitality. With an MSN-Ed, Education from Walden University and a BSN, Registered Nursing from the University of Phoenix, LaTrevette is the Director of Critical Care at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie and has served as an adjunct professor for both Mt. St. Mary College in Newburgh and Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie. During our session we’ll discuss how a healthcare executive and a chef combine talents to create a successful, tasty business partnership.
